Origin & History
To preach and spread the thoughts and ideals of Sree Thakur before the world, a Trust named Hari Satyananda Charitable Trust was registered in the year 1974. Sanghajanani Sree Archana Maa, the Manaskanya of Sree Thakur Satyananda, established Sree Satyananda Devayatan at Jadavpur in the year 1976 as an activity center under this Trust.
In accordance with Thakur Sree Satyananda’s ideals, Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth was founded by the pious hands of Sannyasini Sree Archana Puri Maa in the year 1992. It was founded as a Charitable Trust on the vision of Sree Thakur Satyananda, in the lineage of Sree Thakur Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, Swami Vivekananda and Swami Abhedananda at Ramnagar-Uttarbhag, Baruipur, 24 pgns (S), West Bengal, India. Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth got the certificate of Registration by the Registrar, West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy, Kolkata vide certificate No. YNI/07 Dated 9th January 2017 under section 17th of the West Bengal Yoga and Naturopathic System of Medicine Act 2010 as Yoga and Naturopathy Institution.
Mission & Objectives
- The main objective of Sree Satyananda Devayatan is to arouse spiritual consciousness, to help and guide aspirants in spiritual path and to spread moral education for character building.
- Side by side, Charitable Medical Clinics are established to render service to needy people of the locality.
- Charity to the under-privileged is done in various possible ways.
- Reading from scriptures, religious discourses, offering of Arati with devotional songs, worship and havan etc. are part of the daily routine of Devayatan.
